At the present we import and roast organically grown coffees from four countries. Many are shade grown and bird friendly, community and grower responsible, and all are excellent coffees that are environmentally safe. Mexican Hacienda Miravalles Estate Grown CoffeeProduced on the Cafe Cumbre farm located in the highlands of the Sierra
Madre mountain range, where an abundant shade canopy throughout the farm
provides the perfect habitat for birds and insects. This environment is
key in producing organically grown arabica coffee beans of the highest
quality.
Sumatran Takengon Coffee; Shade Grown, Fair TradeThis exotically aromatic coffee comes from the highland slopes of the Gayo
Mountains in the Lake Takengon region of Northern Sumatra. Over 100 small
coffee producers contribute to this project to produce this certified
organically grown coffee. The project also includes the introduction of
trees and other plant species into the coffee farms that are not only
complementary to coffee production but provides habitat for important
bird population and insect life. The resultant higher quality Fair Trade
coffee generates a higher income for the growers and a better economic
base for the community.
